About the Work
Most of the blossoms in the orchard were already fading when I found this tree still blooming on its own. In the sunlight, she seemed calm and gentle. Butterflies and bees moved around her, while she remained quiet, with a touch of pride.
I took nearly a hundred photographs of her, but in the end I did not want to rely on any particular technique. I simply painted her, slowly, brushstroke by brushstroke.
