About the Plant
Diplotaxis tenuifolia
Known locally as ġarġir isfar, this indigenous perennial grows along Maltese fields, waysides, wasteland and piles of stones. Its peppery leaves and yellow flowers endure much of the year, becoming especially noticeable when few other wild flowers remain after summer.
