About the Plant
Showy balloon vine is not indigenous to Malta. Originally introduced as an ornamental climber, it has escaped cultivation and can now be found growing wild in some valleys and other moist places. Its inflated, papery capsules contain black seeds, each marked with a distinctive white heart.
